Another informative
lecture by Dr. S.K. Lau, Consultant, Limca Book of Records on the topic ‘How to
design a Sports Website’.
The lecture
started with an introduction to ‘world wide web’. Then he discussed about some
main components which play a key role in designing a website.
Main
Components:
1- Common Gateway Interface (CGI)
2- Server Site Includes (SSI)
He also
discussed about some golden rules to make a website more attractive and
appealing:
· Server should be effective
· Website must be interactive
· Content should be impressive and it
should be latest.
He also
added that Java (programming language) is commonly used in designing a website
because it is interactive and more applicable.
At last, he
concluded that a website must be a ‘Powerhouse’ ie. It must contain graphics,
audios, videos and accessible fonts.
