Mary Kom Named Most Valuable Player of India's Asian Games Campaign

Olympic bronze medalist MC Marry Kom was chosen the Most Valuable Player of India's Incheon Asian Games campaign at achievement of the gold medal winners sponsored by Samsung India.

Marry Kom, who became the first Indian women boxer to win a gold medal in Asian games. All the 11 gold winners were in the contest. Wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, pistol shooter Jitu Rai, discus thrower Seema Punia, 4x400m relay runner M R Poovamma were among those gold winners at the event.  

India won 11 gold, 10 silver & 36 bronze in the Incheon Asian Games. Marry Kom said the gold in the Asian Games had proved that she's still be on her top form despite being mother of three children.

"It is difficult in our society to continue this kind of sport. There is a mindset for a women after becoming a mother it is difficult to achieve success in sports. But I think I have proven wrong this kind of thinking" says the five time world champion.
