NATIONAL GOVERNING BODIES OF SPORT

A national governing body of sport(NGB), oversees the existing vision for that sport as well as the future direction and focus of that particular sport.

      

          National governing bodies are responsible for :-

1. providing a national directive and structure

2. providing support and insurance to those clubs that affiliate

3. increase the quality and quantity of coaches, volunteers and officials

4. organize and/or provide information on competitive opportunities at all level

5. assist with facility developments

6. provide information and advise on funding and

7. provide clear objectives and actions for clubs and individuals in assist in the development of the sport.


        in short, the purpose of national governing bodies are:

  -     to increase participation 

  -     develop talent and

  -     deliver top-level success.
