the super rich Qatar royal family has reportedly offered Manchester United’s American owners – the Glazers-a 1.5 billion-pound-plus amount in a new takeover bid.
The super-rich Qataris think United is a good deal – even at the profit it would make for the current rulers and other shareholders.atar has already won the right to host the World Cup finals in 2022 and some of their wealthy elite have bought into top European projects at Spanish club Malaga and French giants Paris St Germain. Now United is the prize – although the exact identity of the buyer is being kept under wraps.

  2. The Qatar national football team is the national team of Qatar and is controlled by the Qatar Football Association. They have never qualified for a FIFA World Cup but are "hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup".

  3. I think there was some kind of leaked e-mail controversy about FIFA Gen. Secretary, which pointed towards Qatar buying the rights to hold W.C. 2022. ( The actual procedure involves fair bidding).
Secondly, like you mentioned Qatar owning Man.U. and hosting finals, etc, etc,. Well, the Indians are also in this race as Pune based corporates - Venky's (Chicken) already own a EPL Team (Blackburn Rovers), even though India is not even in the top 150 soccer nations. So, yeah, the big buck speaks.
That's what you call irony, my friend.
