7th September Discussion with Arjun Sir

Today our discussion started with my single query that "my presentation on formula 1 is a very wide topic to speak upon. So can u just make the topic bit specific?" Then he started the discussion with focus on business related with F1.....The crux of the discussion was around:
1. F1 is a very sophisticated and very hi-tech modernised sport.
2. Its business is on a very huge platform of dollars and corporate sponsorships.
3. Every part of the F1 car is covered by logos and symbols of corporate brands.
4. Why there is so much need of corponsructorsrate sponsorships and lot of finance?
5. Who finances this sport?
6. What is portfolio of regulatory authority of Formula 1 race?
Then Sir asked one question from us-" okk!! players and event are being sponsored , but why the constuctors [ mercedes , mclaren , renault , BMW etc.] are being sponsored or what is their stake benefits?
The answer was :- one of the factor of production in economics i.e. TECHNOLOGY. If any constructor wants to win race he needs technology at par. More and more technology improves , more and more chances of winning . This means if the new technology proves to be successful there , it is transfered to road cars by those companies.
The transfer of technology needs to be optimal and efficient which in itself a tuff task to do. This is done perfectly by japanese companies rather than german companies>> They know the optimal level and price which will grab the market by not compromising with technology and Research and Development. You see toyota , honda etc. are more or less at the same technology level but with a huge price gap. This implies japanese know the trick of minimum cost or price with same technology and this is their bottleneck.
then suddenly we moved to a topic of regulation and development....and then again on formula 1 and in this razzle-dazzle manner we moved to a new topic reasons of india's defeat at the face of English...All the students were trying their maximum to answer sir's questions [ india defeat? , other F1 questions above].. But we were not able to speak what sir wanted to we were just beating round the bush or we were not understanding the actual depths and inter connections which sir were trying to deliver through his razzle dazzle but very important relations amongst various disciplines ( sports , business , technology , economics , history , small classroom, whole society and the entire country )....so i must not call it razzle dazzle but this shows how sir was explaining everything which has connections to the base thing and it is the best atmosphere of learning... "mere kehne ka matlab h ki jo teacher sirf topic pe fix rehke samjata h vo mje acha nhi lagta kyuki vo apne dimaag ko ek limit me rakhta h apne sochne ka dayra fix kar leta aur usi soch ke saath padhata h . your brain thinking must have no limits . then you give the best performance.aap ye mat socho ki aapko kitna padhana h batana h ya padhna h...you wil observe you wil experience best learning which is diferent from others. isiliye ye approach bht kam ko samaj aati h ... main hamesha is approach ko strengthen krne ki koshish karta hu aur yahi approach mere padhne aur sikhne ke approach ko understanding-oriented banati h..teacher jitna bolta h usse kai jyada aap samajne ki koshish karo uske har ek word ko with maximum respect....listen more and understand much more instead of speaking...just dont cram aur accept things which sir says put ur entire thinking process on what sir is trying to speak with logics and reasons? Develop ur thinking process..ur mind must not be stereotyped and be dynamic"
I think i explained a lot.... oh yes i was on reasons of india's defeat...
1. environment changing continuously first West Indies test and odi , then icc world cup and then ipl t 20>>and now immediately england tour widout any proper test match practice and habits.
2. injuries
3. fatigue
4. BCCI Schedules and focus on commercialisation and money making. This implie there has been a lot of development in cricket but what is lacking is proper checks and balances and regulation.
5. retirement age
He taught us to think like a sports administrator rather than a mere spectator. Whatever is the course or learning , unless thinking is not developed it is of no use..
then we discussed abt american and european centalised system VS indian centralised system.
in this way my today's class went through.....and i feel my readers wil do comment and understand the "approach towards learning" which i follow and which arjun sir uses as teaching methodology....i really like it... vrinda u were absent today u asked me so here was for u and al others who were absent..

  1. Brother, even a spark is enough to cause bushfire. So, your little query turned into an hour and half lecture.Even I liked the way Sir gave examples of Cricket and sponsors and technology which not only helped you understand the "approach towards learning" but me also.
