Blogging Matters!!! : It's A Cynical World (Part 3)

                         Day 14.

Yes, indeed folks, the final chapter of the series "It's A Cynical World" is here. And, like I told you in part 2, that this part will chiefly revolve around the dispute between Hockey India and Indian Hockey Federation.
I will also converse about the aftermath which our National Hockey Team and Hockey lovers have had due to this quarrel.
Now, first lets get wind of what HI and IHF are before we move any further.
Hockey India (HI) - The Field Hockey in India is regulated by Hockey India.
Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) - The IHF was formed as a central administrative body and govern the game of Hockey, when Hockey was nationalised.
These 2 bodies have been bickering against each other, as to who will regulate the game in the country, in spite of several warnings being given by Sports Ministry. Currently, I reckon that Indian Hockey is going through one of the darkest phases in its splendid history. The upshots of the squabble between HI and IHF are evident due to the following points : -
  • The Indian conterdership for an upcoming tournament has been handed over to New Zealand by the International Hockey Federation (FIH).
  • The right to host 2011 Men's Champion Trophy have been taken by the FIH due to the ongoing muddle of Hockey regulation in India.
  • India has been given invitation to the Champions Trophy in South Africa but, for that also, a compromise between HI and FIH is necessary.
  • The Olympic Qualifying Tournament, to be held in New Delhi is also in peril.
  • Junior events conducted by IHF have been disregarded by HI.
  • Another victim of this impugn, is the women's hockey, which is not getting a coach to prepare for an upcoming under-18 tournament in Bangkok.
  • The pittance pay of 25,000 rupees further brought the Indian National Hockey Team and game lovers on the brink of shame in front  of the whole world. HI gave the reward without consulting Sports Ministry.
Well, these and many other losses are the outcome of this battle. I certainly wish that the Olympic qualifiers and other big events should take place in India, but the greed to regulate the game is further pushing it to extinction. If the dispute is not settles permanently and urgently then, it can cause some more upcoming tournaments or even reduce the chances of Hockey Team going abroad.
But, a ray of hope has come up, as HI and IHF recently signed an agreement for formation of a joint executive board, but only time will tell us the credibility of this nexus.
Ok. This is the end of the 3 part series about Hockey in India being in jeopardy. Hope you people like it, yes or no, please comment on the series. Thank You.
