Ohhhh!!! It was a big big , big woowwww! day for me. Everybody know very well about today 16th september "Youth Express" Show at studio set of Doordarshan.
The moment I entered the studio I was spellbounded on seeing the ceiling full of cameras , flash , TV production gadgets and all such stuff....When we were logging into the building , we saw the posters of all indian hype serials with full-on overacting...But on getting inside the Studio No.1 of the Doordarshan Building , that pathetic feeling of Typical Hindi serials and the image of Doordarshan went away...
The host of our show was Miss Garima.. and the guests for the show were two experts of the field " Health- Diet, Nutrition, Lifestyle" which same was the theme of our today's show. They were basically Doctors of different specialised branch. Fortunately , I got their visiting cards too. One was Mrs.Ishi Khosla ( Dietician) and other was Mr.Amresh Mittal(Endocrinologist).
The show basically was a message to the all the viewers that balanced diet , proper sleep , health , body image , lifestyle habits and bla.. bla.. bla.. all these things need to be looked after seriously... and we , THE YOUTH were harbingers or the medium of transferring the message to the unaware public..
The time before the shooting began was really very informative and interesting. We knew how a TV programme ( a final product ) is produced. How the host was pre-deciding the order of the questions? How we need to sit in a specific posture so as to get on camera properly with an aching back and legs? How big cameras , flash works? How a small "set" in one portion of a room seems so big like a proper room and covers our TV Screen? etc. We all were extremely excited abot coming on TV and everybody was calling their mom , dad and siblings " 4 'o Clock main DD1 pe aane wala/wali hu...TV on kar ke baith jao".
The entire show went about like a discussion between:
1. Host and 2 Experts
2. Experts and Youth Audience
3. Host and Youth audience.
Experts very readily answered our queries and discussed a lot on different points raised by we people sitting as Youth Representatives. The basic pillars on which discussion spinned around were:
1. Diet
2. Sleep
3. Physical Exercise.
4. The effects of these 3 things on obesity , health , age and lifestyle.
The Status of these pillars in the modern people especially youth was borne out very comfortably. We people publicised our personal health or lifestyle related things with the experts and got fabulous responses.
"If we just learn one simple thing how to balance our diet and sleep , we will be far away from obesity(mother of all diseases) at an early age especially"- The Ultimate Conclusion of the Show....
"All other small little health tips me and you already know and remember very well . also because the tips were person specific and the remaining general tips concluded on my above statement. As my other friends have already told u all about today's facts , figures and statements. I felt no need to repeat those tips again..
We entered into an agreement with Doordarshan for being a crew of the show and were given a cheque of 500 INR. I know a very very small amount . But Experience matters.
okk these health problems were discussed which we come about everyday ... so that was not a big deal....The main purpose is now "we are seeing the real world" and gaining most needed experience...
Even you noticed Obesity and Sports Economics and Marketing are poles apart....Then why we were a part of today's show not much because of health tips but "EXPERIENCE".
I thought I shared a different view with all my blogging buddies about today's event..."
