Blogging Matters!!! : Cricket/IPL and Entertainment Value

Day 16.
First of all my condolences to the people who died in yesterday's Earthquake in North-East India. Words cannot describe the tragedy and the pain left by these disasters.
Now, my tonight's blog is a continuation of my crusade with Entertainment Value and adjoining it with  manifold sports. I've already written blogs about EV and F1 race and EV and Gladiatorial Combats.
Tonight's idea came to me after watching non-stop media coverage about Kochi IPL Team's termination on my TV. So, we'll try and look Cricket/IPL from the perspective of EV.
Cricket : - an open air game played on a large grass field with ball, bats, and two wickets, between teams of 11 players, the objective of the game being to score more runs than the opposition. (Oxford Dictionary).
Sports having Entertainment Value have an assured upper hand in the proliferating business universe of sports. A different moral and aesthetic world owns the game of Cricket today. This enormous change in ethos can be attributed to the arrival of the Indian Premier League or IPL
Since its inception in year 2008, IPL has bypassed traditional cricketing norms in the name of media Entertainment and providing quick economic profits to players. Its basic fundamental to enlarge the Entertainment Value of Cricket has helped its Brand Value.
Cricketers today, have to be cognizant  of the Entertainment Value they yield but, they must submit themselves to limits on their earnings for the best interests of cricket.
I reckon that IPL has many factors in its support in India like -
1.) Entertainment Value,
2.) Extensive Media Coverage
3.) Nationalist or I should say feelings of belonging to a particular State.
4.) High-Voltage stagecraft of sporting encounters.
5.) Franchising - Bidders including business tycoons like Mukesh Ambani's Reliance, Bollywood Stars like Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta, etc.
In the various codes of Cricket, which are well considered as providing Entertainment Value , large sums of money are spent to have a festival season in the form of IPL. IPL's prosperity shows, that its promoters marketed it quick-witted. They understood that today's generation wants joy, Entertainment and a result providing game.
That's all for today people. Hope you understood the business of Cricket/IPL from the way I explained and also the Entertainment Value which comes with it.
Thanks For Reading.
