FICCI Came To SEM Khalsa

Today , The head of Sports and Youth Affairs of FICCI , Mr.Rajpal Singh spared his valuable time and discussed with us "National Sports Development Bill 2011" alongwith an open-query session. Our class began with the salient features of NSDB 2011 covering details of all of the 12 chapters of the bill. He even showed us the Prliminary Draft Of the bill. He explained the necessity of the bill over the already existg sports policy as the bill is a compulsary enforceable legal document not only recommendatory like a policy. The key issues discussed were:

1. Four Pillars of Indian sports and creation of Sports Council.

2. Accountability and Transparency in Sports

3. Role of NSF ( National Sports Federations mainly BCCI)

4.Basis of recognizing Federations

5. Eligibility Criterions ( Tenure , age limit etc.)

6. Doping issues

7. Major Negatives of NSDB 2011. ( No Development Clause in Development bill but only regulation)

8. RTI and BCCI

9. Public Private Partnership Model in Sports

10. Exemptions and Demands of Sports lke any other sector.

Research which he is pursuing now was very shocking . (There is a lack of 25 lac sports experts still in India , Athletic Development Programme , Multi Level Coaching , Sports Science Experts and Other Imp. Sports Statistics) which in a way was a great solution for under-development of sports in India.

The best thing we came to learn that This bill is not against Federations but against Individuals.

This person had a great passion for sports and this passion had lead to a stage that -"Now there is a separate CSR for sports as a very imp. industry in FICCI only Becuase of Him."

Being an extrovert , his open mindedness and thinking about sports enlightened us with many fantabulous solutions to the problem and made us feel more motivated for the all round development of sports as a Industry in India in the coming calender........

The Biggest Exposure , we are going to get right after one month at The International Global Sports Summit organized by FICCI , is in my words a gift to all of us given by Mr. Rajpal Singh who in a minute invited us a special guest @ the summit without the participation fee of 10,000INR.

  2. @Harpreet, at least I'll be there, brother.
And Prabodh, you're absolutely right in saying that the biggest exposure will be deliverd to us at the FICCI Summit and secondly, it was a very noble gesture by Mr. Rajpal Singh for abolishing the Registration fee of 10k for us.
