Brothers and Sisters of my Readerland, the countdown has got faster for the first ever Formula One Grand Prix in India. Come October 30th, the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, U.P. will witness "tyres on fires" as the world's best drivers and their teams will be seen contending for the glory.
This season will feature Drivers and Teams like : Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) , Lewis Hamilton (McLaren Mercedes) and not to forget the Indian speedsters like Narain Karthikeyan (Hispanic Racing Team) and Adrian Sutil (Force India).
The big picture for Indians is the level of participation shown by sponsors and masses alike for this greatly anticipated race. Telecom giant, Airtel's announcement as title sponsor for this season's F1 race is huge shocker for me as till last month they were chief sponsors for CLT20 cricket tournament , which they aren't now.
Another feather to our cap is the recent announcement of Hero Motors to sponsor Narain Karthikeyan and his Hispanic team. Even Bangalore Royal Challenger's owner Dr. Vijay Mallya has signed a sponsorship deal between his F1 team Force India and Kingfisher Airlines.
As time draws nearer, many more sponsors are likely to sign up for this epic racing fiesta.
All of this brings me to the focal point, are we going to witness a revolution in the Indian sporting culture in this decade? is cricket's eclipse over other sports going to disperse? is the sign of big sponsors for this race a one time affair?
So, ladies and gents of Readerland what do you think will happen ? And are you going to be there ? Do write your comments and suggestions.
as the economics PLC(product life cycle)managemnt says...every product has its saturation point at one stage...i believe though india has got an uncomparable cricket maniacs...but the youngsters alwayz intend to try smthg new..n break d monotonous line...in d coming years i can estimate 4 d fading off of cricket craziness....
ReplyDeleteAppreciate your comment Vrinda but I don't want cricket craziness to fade away or for any other sport, but I want frenzy liking to develop for all the sports. And thanks for reminding of PLC which is a crucial point which i'll undertake in my upcoming blogs of the same nature.
