the most hot topic in sports now a dayz dats making news..is how hockey players who brought the fame in world sports by gettng triumph in ordos in china(bagging asian champions trophy)...have been plunged into a controversy wen hockey federation and sports ministry(ENJOYED PASSING THE BUCK,hehe)..who apparently offend THE HOCKEY SPORT by rewarding 25k per player.. though wich has now been revised to25lakh per team..making 1.5 lakh per player...
The three-time Olympian, member of the Indian team that won the gold medal at Moscow in 1980 and former India captain,MM somaya(i doubt whethr u guyz know his name,i dnt) said: They play many internationals in a year and they should be financially secure. India's international hockey players cannot be equated with those playing for college teams. There's a lot of pride in playing for the country. If the officials in the national federation cannot raise money, they don't deserve to be there. If the federation has credibility, Corporate India will support hockey in a big way

further.......An official at the Major Dhyan Chand Sports Complex at Ashok Vihar on the condition of anonymity said that the complex offers training and coaching in sports like cricket, karate, badminton, etc, and that they don't have any provision for coaching hockey at the complex.
"We don't teach hockey here. For that people can go to Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, India Gate and get coaching. Yes, this is a sports complex, but we don't provide any training in hockey, we cater to other sports."
